Genetic Testing

Our Physicians have teamed up with Myriad, a genetics laboratory, to test for hereditary colorectal cancer, using the Colaris test kit.  Eligible candidates may be tested at any of our 5 locations.  The testing is useful for diagnosing colorectal and endometrial cancers in individuals that have family members with cancer.  Our offices will fill out the necessary paperwork and draw your blood and submit the samples and information to Myriad for testing.  Results will be sent to us within a couple weeks and we will call you to schedule an appointment to discuss your test results.  Please visit the Myriad (http://www.myriad.com/) homepage for more information.

TEM

Transanal Endoscopic Microsurgery (TEM) is a minimally invasive procedure for the excision of certain rectal polyps and early stage rectal tumors.  The TEM procedure provides an alternative to major abdominal surgery for selected patients.  The benefits of TEM include: no major surgery, no large incision, no colostomy, less pain, faster recovery and shorter hospital stay
