Insurance
The San Antonio Colon and Rectal Clinic is contracted with most of the large and many of the smaller insurance companies. We make every attempt to know the general policies for most insurance companies; however, it is impossible for us to know each individual plan. As a patient it is important that you are knowledgeable about your policy, including covered and non-covered procedures and providers. It is important that you notify our offices of all of your insurance policies and update us with new or corrected information. Please keep in mind that our relationship as your physician is with you and not your insurance company. Please feel free to contact any of our offices to find out if we are providers for your insurance company.
Referrals
Some insurance plans, especially HMO’s, require referrals. We ask that you have your referral faxed to our office prior to your appointment or that you bring a copy of your referral with you to your appointment. Please note that we may have to reschedule your appointment if we do not have your referral at the time of your appointment. We suggest that you call the day before your appointment to verify that we received your referral. If you are unsure about your policy or referral please contact your insurance company. We appreciate your help and patience regarding these insurance matters.
Fees and Payments
San Antonio Colon and Rectal Clinic shares your concern about the increasing cost of medical care. Charges for office visits are based on the complexity of your visit. For this reason, charges may vary from visit to visit; we are happy to provide estimates of anticipated charges, however, keep in mind it will only be an estimate and we will not know the exact amount until the end of your visit. We request that all office charges, including co-pays and deductibles for insured individuals, be paid at the time services are rendered. For your convenience we except cash, check, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.
